Projects converted to 2022 can't flip doors

AstridArch

Question

Hi,

We have recently upgraded to Vectorworks Architect 2022 as an office and have been batch converting projects (previously using 2020). On more than one machine we are finding that existing doors in models can't be flipped - the "Flip" option is greyed out. These are unstyled doors, which were flippable in the previous version we used.

We have tried shutting down the file/Vectorworks completely, and then it does work for a while but at some point the 'flip' function turns off again.

Is this is a flipping bug or is there a fix we can work around without having to restart the software several times?

Thank you.

Are the Doors still unstyled ?

And more important, for me in VW 2023,

the flip option only appears in my door OIP settings, once the Door is inserted in a Wall.

Is this the case ?

Usually the PIO  problems happen the other way round, when you export a newer

file to an older VW version.

Have you already tried

Menu : Tools/Utilities/Update Plugins

and/or

Reset all Plugins ?

Sometimes migrated PIOs get corrupt from time to time.

In the past I had a single corrupt Window migrated which caused VW to crash immediately

when I tried to edit its settings. Once finally detected, the only solution was to delete

and rebuild that Window.

Thanks for your response. The doors have remained as 'Unstyled' and how you've described the Flip option only appearing once the door is inserted into a wall does apply to us as well. I've realised that on one project this is happening to was actually created in 2022, so can't be a Batch Convert issue.

We've tried the Update Plugins procedure you've suggested, thank you. Fingers crossed this is the solution - it seems to be working so far, but because it was an intermittent problem I'm not sure if it's solved it or not. Time will tell!
