Eric Chase
Hi, I've found that when I extrude curves they turn it a series of connected straight lines. Is there a way for me to extrude it as a pure curve, or to adjust settings (like in sketchup) to create more points on the curve to increase the number of straight lines to more match the 2d curve? You can see quickly on the screen shot the original 2D curve, and then the extruded version with a straight edge at the top of the curve. Quote Link to comment
markdd
This is intentional and is a way of managing the resolution of 3D Curves. However, you can change the conversion resolution to High in the 3D Tab of Vectorworks Preferences. This will increase the number of segments that a 3D curve is created using. Hopefully that will give you the results you are expecting..... Edited December 15, 2022 by markdd 1 Quote Link to comment
line-weight
Changing the conversion resolution can make this problem less bad but I wouldn't be surprised if the OP already has it on high. The larger the radius of the curve, the more of a problem this is. This faceting of curves is a quite big limitation of Vectorworks if you are trying to do certain things. There is some fairly detailed discussion of it here: 2 Quote Link to comment
