Unable to publish

Claudia P.

Question

Hi!

I am trying to  publish my vw sheet layers in a batch. This has worked perfectly fine in the past- until 2 days ago. I am now getting the following alerts:

1 or more sheet layers will not be published, because they can not be found..... (yes I did delete 2 sheet layers which I received with the initial site survey and did not need. I always had them in the background and 2 days ago decided to delete them)

I have cleared the set that I wanted to publish and started from scratch, also tried to just publish 1 page but when I click publish, I end up in a loop and nothing happens.

Pretty sure I checked or unchecked something by mistake. Hopefully somebody can help. I am very new to VW and work with Educational Version 2022.

Thank you All

@Claudia P.,

Are you trying to Publish to the Cloud? Can you check if the Vectorworks Cloud Services app is up and running? A few days ago, we noticed a pronblem with the app not launching after an auto-update. I assume you may have this issue because of that. If the desktop app is not launching, try:

1. Restarting your computer. It the issue persists, continue to step 2.

2. Downloading the latest app from https://cloud.vectorworks.net/download/latest/Mac or https://cloud.vectorworks.net/download/latest/Windows and install it, replacing the current version that is on your computer.

Please let me know if these steps do not fix your issue.

Best regards,

Oh, I realize this is for the Educational version where the situation may be more specific. What option are you setting on the Store and Processing dropdown on the Publish dialog?

Hi Iskra,

the Publish to: is greyed out. When I click File export options the first 3 options are greyed out. I ran a test last night with another project and I can publish with no issues at all. It's just this project. I can work my way around and export the sheet layers as single pdf's using the export button but was hoping to find out what is going on to avoid this from happening again. The red file is the one I have deleted because I did not need it. This was in the original file given to me.

The alerts you are getting are just because you are asking VW to Publish a sheet layer that no longer exists (the red one). But you should be able to just remove it from the Publish list or ignore the alerts + it will publish the other sheet.

The 'Publish to:' options are greyed out until you select one of the sheets in the list.

The top 3 file export options are greyed out because you are publishing to print. Do you want to print or save them as PDFs?
