Spacebar to activate temporary pan tool not working

Hi all, I'm not sure whether this is a bug, or an issue with settings somewhere on my machine; but I cannot get the temporary pan tool (activated by spacebar) to work.

If the cursor is moving when I press spacebar, the 'hand' icon temporarily appears then immediately returns to the previous tool.

 

Any suggestions?

Are you on VW 2022 or VW 2023 ?

 

Once VW invented these temporary quick tools around you cursor when idle.

And they set SPACEBAR as key to force the tool boxes as default.

You can change that key again and have other options for theses temporary

tool boxes.

BTW,

usually the toolboxes appear by default when pressing SPACEBAR once.

Basically you should still be able to PAN with Spacebar, you just need to

wait a bit while holding SPACEBAR and noticeably DRAG until it recognizes

panning.
