Basic palette layout in 2023

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have just downloaded vectorworks 2023. The basic palette has been split into four categories for some reason which means more clicking (see attached).

Is there anyway to put it back to the layout in 2022 when all the tools are in one box?

Thanks!

You can create a custom workspace and reorder the tools in any order you want.

I only see that layout in the Architect-BIM workspace. So try the Architect and see if it is acceptable.

Or re-open VW2022 and make a custom workspace out of the Architect-BIM there and then use the Migration Manager to bring that forward to VW2023.  It should not rearrange your palettes.

Interesting,

it is really just in Architect BIM only.

but I think I get how it was done and maybe could imitate that.

But I am not sure if I could dock 4 of these Palettes at the bottom

of my drawing window like I currently do with my custom basic palette.

But no real need as I basically already reordered and expanded my

custom "basic palette" in a similar way and order ....

The icons at the bottom are just Tool Sets. Use the "Hamburger" menu at the top of the palette and set it to display Tool Sets as Icon Only to get that view.

So yes, you could create exactly that same thing in your custom workspace. All Done from the Workspace Editor and the Palette "Hamburger" menu at the upper right.
