I need to write a few simple (well maybe not so simple) scripts that deal with irrigation design. Who knows, they may have commercial value. Anybody interested? thks Thom thomvetter@applecapital.net

I use polylines. I set a rough, continous alignment using one line for the full alignment. Then go back and using the edit polyline tool, change the vertices to arcs where needed. Arc radus's can also be dictated. This method does not rely on trying to connect various lines - something I find frustrating and wished worked better. Then offset to one's content.

Katie Text seems to loose its clarity. The fonts do not retain their shape and line weight.

I know this is an old topic, but I am required to export 90% of my dwg's to Autocad. Text exports poorly at best, Worksheets are poor to non existant without cumbersome work arounds, making them somewhat worthless. The text issue is loosing me clients.

I would like to see a routine to design curved parking lots.

Whatever is done it needs to be exportable to autocad. Worksheets do not export easily, text is so-so.

For general info. I just came across this site. http://cben.net/ Has much access to free symbols in dwg format. So far I have been able to convert to VW ok.

In the download section of the main web site, 10.1.2 is listed, but everything past that point is labesl 10.0.1. The exe. looks to be the latter. Is this the new update or has the website update not been completed yet? thks

I would like to see better text export capabilities. Much of my work has text blocks such as schedules included. I export 50 - 60% of my work to autocad users. Secondly, how about creating a way to export worksheets. Many of us use them to create schedules. They are not of much help if I then need to retype them in to be exported to autocad. One other suggestion - Get marketing to be more active in PNW so my arcitects will switch to a superior program - then these issues would go away. thks

Yes this is the format used by"Whip" Problem with pdf's is they are not scaleable on screen.

I have a couple of architects who post the dwf.'s on their website for contractors to use for takeoffs. Therefore it is important to be able to provide a dwg that can be compatible.

But they are not commonly accepted by others. Unfortunately this is another example where autocad has set the standard.

The difference being that dxf and dwg are modifiable formats and dwf is not. It would be nice to have a format that all could print to that would allow for easy interchange of finished product in a non modifiable format that print shops and contractors could use for take offs etc.

I just had an architect ask if I could print to DWF. Apparently this is what contractors and printers are wanting. Anybody know about this format. It is supposed to be viewable, scaleable, but cannot modify. thks

When picking inserted object symbols, the class and layer info boxes move to the extreme right instead of remaining in the same position as ie a polyline layer or class info box. Therefore one needs to enlarge the object info box to see the relevant information.

I have problems getting material fills to work especially in smaller irregular areas. I am trying to create a stipple pattern on the edges of lawn areas. By pack, I just meant all my symbols. I did not try the method you mentioned. I think it probably would work fine. My philosophy is that the program has been rewritten enought that I want to start clean. I did try to import my symbols etc for 9.5 and was mildly successful, but created too many error messages for my liking. Could have been a result of learning the new setup of ver 10.

Shasta I had many symbols I had created in 9.5 and still find it cleaner to recreate a new symbol pack by duplicating, renaming, and modifying the symbols provided in 10. I get less errors etc.

How does one customize right click? thks in advance

Viper I agree with Katie. Was having the same problem. Fixed by getting a new video driver. LM seems to like alot of video memory also.

Robert I am getting the same error even when using the "3 point poly". Usually the symbols will appear after clicking through 4 script error messages, then it take 4 more error messages for the messages go away.
