  1. Hi Ben As mentioned before I am only rendering 14 tables, which is half of what is actually in the drawing and normally do not have this problem with dubble the amount. The chair is not complex and have never had a problem with them in years. What is Dupe? All the components are new except for the chairs and Source4 bodies out of my libraries. They render in other drawings. I am busy re-rendering a copy in a new file containing only what is in the plan making the dwg file half the size. So should see if it works in like 2hrs. Open GL does work. I have attached the one camera view that did render Also the view I want next without the tables. Thanks for the advice so far.
  2. Thanks Ben I do have everything in symbols, but not as deeply nested as you speak of. Also I do not have a table as such, the drape of the table is the table. every other object is a symbol though. Still No one can tell me why VW crashes instead off just to stop the rendering. Do I have a corrupt file or symbol maybe?
  3. Hi Dave Thanks for the quick responce I know all about the 3GB swith and ray-tracing etc. BUT I'm not even doing that level of rendering, my system won't cope with a Custom Renderworks Render if it can't even do a Fast with Shadows Render, which I trying to do when it crashes. Maybe if I mention what I added to the tables it will lead us in the right direction. I created 3 sizes of plates. a dinner, side and Centre Table plate. Thus there is one of the big one and 12 of the other each. I created a circle, extruded it, then subtracted the top/centre and bottem outer parts to resemble a plate. I also trimmed the edges. I created a Napkin from Nurbes Curves, extruded it and trimmed the edges. this lays across the dinner plate and has an oval extrution as a band around it. There are 12 of them and 14 tables. Here is a pic of it: http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u171/CAPTIANZ/table-settingsqA.jpg
  4. Good day All I seriously had enough, but the boss wont upgrade. This project I'm busy with keeps crashing VW when I do the "final" render. I say "Final" cause it is Fast with Shadows, but with a whole bunch of lights with Lit Fog on, hanging from trussing and some tables and it being the most my PC can handle. Looking at like almost a 2hr rendertime. Now, I have recently upgraded the look of my 10 and 12-seater tables to have more than just the table and chairs and I think this is the culprit, but do not understand why it would Crash the program and leave you with that Windows msg (Send/Don't Send Report). I can understand if VW stops Rendering and pops up the Out of Memory Box. It runs Geometry and Shadows, but when Rendering stage starts it closes the program. Any Advice will be appreciated Thank You.
  5. That is an interesting point Farookey, now that you mention it. Jiri K, What is your system particulars? as in CPU, RAM etc (like in my sig) Maybe the guru's would be able to tell us if this has any influence with you working with VW. You also mention that you only worked for 2hr on it and it being the Trail version of VW2011. Did you Shut Down and Start up or just Restart before using the program? I have had many threads on here talking about out of memory etc and what I should do cause of how VW remembers, but that is with an old version...
  6. Hi guys I have also experienced this. Not have the 2011 yet though. As far as I undertand it Benson is right, but another factor to consider is the memory usage. What I mean with this is, how often do you save the drawing while you are busy? VW seems to get lazy/forgetful when it needs to remember complex objects for a long period of time. I found this more so with Nurbs curves that have been extruded or things like curtains/draping that are complex. Try save more and see if the problem persist. If so then it must be a fualt in 2011.
  7. Thanks guys. Will give it a shot when our ADSL line is finally installed. This should hellp me alot with all the other stuff I have. Keep Well
  8. Good day Could you post a render of what this blur effect looks like please.
  9. Good day All I seems to have run into a dilemma. I finally had the time and project to study the Lighting Instruments and objects properly. I went through all the steps creating it and focusing etc. I had 8 Instruments at first, but cut down to just 2 lights. When I tried to render in Fast with shadows it ran out of Memory. So I restarted the PC and tried again. Still the same. I rendered a different lighting setup with truss in the same drawing and was a usual. What I did usually is take a light instrument body and add a light in the Symbol. Why does the render run out when you create the lights as described in the textbook compared to my way? Any help or advice will be appreciated. Thank you
  10. Hi Kevin (long time) Thanks for explaining. So I just have to accept the fact that there will always be these white specs on my renders when presenting to clients?    Seems to me the thought proses in making them was not done as they will be used for rendering and thus visable.
  11. I did try and get drawings from them, but were not very helpfull unfortunatly. I finelly managed to drawup something resembling what we needed after hours of trail and error. Still does not look like the realthing on the technical side of things...
  12. Good day MK Sorry did not have this on my watched threads. I see that little poly thing that looks like a pixel that did not render. It is bigger when zoomed. PM me your email and I'll send you a render of it. Thanks
  13. Hi rDesign Thanks for all the info I do not have SketchUp at all. Downloaded a few files as I knew VW12 could import them. But you mention a Free Version of SketchUp? Where?
  14. Thanks for the link I found this http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=b0564d5ba4b32e05fdbe2bf897d8a820&ct=mdrm&prevstart=0 and a bunch more Awe Bugger - I can only import upto SketchUp5. :( I cant use the other nice ones that are Version 6 and 7
  15. Can someone Please post this file as a VW12.5 version? Thank You in advance.
  16. Have not read through it all, but where is everybody going to park? They had 9500 employees with 9800 parking spaces. The new one has 13000(+40%) employees with only 1200 parkings (-90%) So they all going to walk to work then. Great on the enviroment.
  17. OK Cool Thanks Mike I deleted the Door Class and Viola it Worked. Thanks Again
  18. I know this is an old post, but no reply was given and I still need to find out what to do. Please help out
  19. Good day All I Still have VW 12.5 and working OK. Well until today when I wanted to create Doors and Windows from the Scenic Objects Palette. When you click on the Doors, Windows, Stair and Column icons NOTHING happens. 20. Ahoy! Been a long time since I have been on here, so HI to all that remember me and to the new ones. Hope someone can help me out with this one. I am in search of the 3d drawing for the 18m Orbit stage structure to use in a 3d presentation. As this is a preposal we do not have the structure as yet and I would like to reprasent it 100% I have started to draw it, but proving not too easy as I do not know what trussing is used and dont have all the measurements for it. Thank you in advance for any assistance from you. Keep Well Carl
  21. Thank you Grant And there I was thinking it was VW...Oh well.
  22. Good day Grant I had a look at your renders and note the human figures seem to be image props, but 3d ones. Is this what VW2008 is capable in doing?, creating photo quality Human figures? Would like to know how you got this if not in VW. Keep Well
