What is the formula in the database header row for column C?  Cell C3.

Also what is the criteria for the database row?

You should be able to just add another criteria to only include item that have true in field specified in C3.

Yes, that worked. I was trying Database for the solution and it was Criteria that solved it.

    Thanks again.

Okay!!  Thank you Andy & Pat.  I think I've got it working.  Once I found the "Sheet Data" Record, I was able to generate a linked List of Drawings.  But then it was a bit of a struggle to exclude the sheets that I didn't want in the List.  I couldn't find if or where the "This Title Block is Active" option for TTBs might show up in worksheets so, ultimately, I used the "Status" field of "Sheet Data" and (as I did before with my Title Block symbols) created two worksheets: one a report where I can set the Status as either "Current" or not, and the other the List of Drawings itself that's on the drawings (and that looks for only "Current" sheets).  So I think it's all (mostly) good!

I say "mostly" 'cause I kinda would've expected the "Tools > Reports > Create Sheet List..." function to automatically create a linked worksheet.  Also, when setting the Field Value for the search criteria for the Database Row, is there any way to do it other than scrolling down through that infinitely long list of every possible Field Value in the known Universe?

    Anyway, thank you!  -Will

I see you use 2022 now, like me. The "Status" tweak it doesnt work anymore., I guess. How do you do your drawing lists now?

@Pat Stanford Once again, you are BRILLIANT. Thank you thank you!

I copied my new Worksheet into a blank file, below, in case anyone else would like to utilize it. It relies on a Title Block Border object being on each sheet. I also set the criteria to exclude sheets with TBBs that have "This Title Block is Active" unchecked.

Sheet List Linked to TBB v2020.vwx

Sheet List Linked to TBB v2019.vwx

Hello, I don't understand how did you "set the criteria to exclude sheets with TBBs that have "This Title Block is Active" unchecked." That is exactly what I am trying to do in 2022, but can't!!!

@JuanPThis issue persists with or without the TBB. It started again just now after I checked on the "Display Drawing Stamp" to print a couple of PDFs. Unchecking it does not make the issue go away, even when restarting the app.

@BiplabI don't see how can I deliver a set of construction drawings in a couple of weeks.

And how ca I explain this to my employer after I recommended him to buy Vectorworks.

    @JuanP

    @Pat Stanford

I deleted all the TBBs from the document, even from the Resourse Manager. Still get the glitch.

For some reason I originally did not get the glitch from wireframe plans, only from rendered sheet layers. After removing the TBBs I get the glitch from all attempts.

Restarting 2022 or the Mac does not help in any way.

Happens in both my personal VWs 2022 and in my work VWs 2022.

Seems there is a connection with updating/resetting plugin objects. When I do not update them the file prints to PDF normally. Which plugin/? that is the question.

Hello Juan, any progress on this? At first I thought the Title Block Border was to blame, but it seems that the anomaly affects only certain drawings, but not others, even when the the same TBB is present.

We had similiar issue with opening v22 file in 2023 version and in middle of ‘updating walls’ during file opening stage it crashed software.

We found that it was casued by abandoned wall objects on one design layer with wall style bound to non existing stories. Walls were actually flat as we dont have stories present in the file.

Not sure if issue has to do something with stories…?

After these abandoned wall objects were erased crash never happend again and file finally opened succesfully in v23.

Thanks for the feedback. We are not using Stories, but we are using stock walls that may be bound like that.

Is there a reason (other than not updating your signature) that you are still on OS12.5.1 instead of 12.6? If not, then possibly try that and see if it makes a difference.

Possibly User Folder corruption? Create a new User and run VW from there (which will generate a clean User Folder) and see if the file updates then? Or quit VW, drag your user folder to the desktop, launch VW and see if you can import the file.  If no, then just delete the new User Folder and replace it with the old one. If it does work you have to decide if you want to stick with the new one and add in anything you have added, or go back to the old on knowing your have something that is causing problems and you will need to troubleshoot it another time.

I am currently working on my work MacBP M1Pro 14" and it has OS12.6. My personal MacBP M1 13" (that's on 12.5.1) also has the problem with VWs 2023. I'll report on the User Folder swap.

The Repair is actually part of the Vectorworks Updater program, not the installer. Middle Right, labeled Advanced Options.

Hello, I did the repair with the Updater and it was successful, but opening the 2022 file with 2023 still hangs on the same item: "Updating Plugin Objets..."

    Got it! Thank you!

So far, I have not been able to reproduce the "updating plug-in objects" hang you had.  Have you tried running the Vectorworks Installer Repair?

However, I was able to reproduce the crash and submitted a report for that (VB-193548).

I didn't know about the Installer Repair, I'll check it out tomorrow. Thanks.

  11. I sent the file's Dropbox link via PM.

I am getting another issue with the file. Double clicking the Door Schedule with Images on Sheet A612, instantly crashes VWs 2022. Opening the Door Schedule in the Resource Manager make VWs 2022 hangs and eventually crashes it.

That last issue is really scary. I am nearing an important milestone in the Construction Documents phase!! Any help is appreciated .

You could also make a Wall which has a 1/2” thick tile component (or however thick your tile installation is) and give that tile component a top offset: If the wall is 10 feet high, the tile component would have a top offset of 3 feet. You could have a tile surface hatch as part of the RW texture.

I just did that and it looks nice. That means I have an extra Wall Style, and I was afraid of getting two "A" walls... but it didn't happen. Nice, indeed.

  13. In small projects I would make a Transparent hatched rectangle and place it upright against the wall. I now have a larger project with like 20 washrooms and not looking forward to doing all 80 walls like that. Would you use textured walls with a wainscot (ex: 7' high tiles in a 10' high wall)? The texture would need to have a texture with a surface hatch, no?

Have you tried using Custom Selection. Wall Style is one of the options. Use that and the replace the Style for all of them at one with the style you want.

What columns are you SUMmarizing the report on? That would be my guess as to why you have two different entries for C and Generic 6". That the report is not seeing them as the same due to the Mark being different. That could also explain why you are getting the --- for the description. If it is actually two different styles.

Hello, I was able to fix the Schedule with the Custom Selection by overriding the IFC descriptions and the classes. Except for the Existing 6" Wall that I need to keep 2 diff classes because some walls are interio, but some are in the exterior (outside the building). If I change all to the same class I will have visibility issues. Someone has prob had this issue and solved it.

Thanks, I appreciate it. One less thing to worry about.

What identifies specific walls as N.I.C.?  If they all have something that is the same about them that is different than walls you want on the schdule them we can modify the criteria to exclude them.

I though not including the existing walls in it would simplify things for me; they are just going to be painted. The NIC wall at the end of the Schedule are partition walls that will be supplied by the Office System contractor; I just included them for the GCs reference.

The very strange thing is that gypsum board walls have varying heights and yet the description in the Schedule appears perfectly as written in the Wall Style, but the same is the case with the generic walls, and yet I get the three dots in the style description, and cannot edit it.

As to "How can two different Schedule entries direct me to the SAME Styled Wall in the Resource Manager???" I wish I could select all walls with the same style ("C", for instance) and replace them instead of trying to find the culprit wall one by one.

  17. 4 minutes ago, Tom W. said:

Can the NIC walls go in a dedicated NIC class then they can be excluded this way?

I use 'existing', 'proposed' + 'demolished' classes as a matter of course

Me too, the stock classes for some walls are not very practical when doing a remodel.

Anyway... why can't I edit the wall entry in the Schedule if they are all the same, same width, same components, only some of the height changes. It works with some walls, not others. I suspect the "Generic" ones are glitchy. Seems Ill have to duplicate a "good" wall and eliminate the components to make it "generic" (no hatch, as in a low wall or parapet).
