  1. The “Marionette” subsystem will provide the Vectorworks user with the ability to algorithmically generate geometry and other Vectorworks objects, using a graphical flow chart like language making the system very accessible to architects and other non-programmers. The basic unit of the language is termed a “Tile” and represents either a type or function. Marionette exposes the power and flexibility of Vectorworks scripting to designers and architects who do not want to work in a traditional text based language. Functions or Procedures are represented by “Nodes”. Vectorworks 2016 ships with an extensive library of nodes which are all easily accessible from the new Marionette Tool. Nodes are connected with wires. Data travels through a “Script” or network as we often call it, from left to right. “Input” nodes expect some argument to be supplied on the Object Info Palette. When the network is complete, it can be executed from the context menu.
  2. Yes - if you have a special character in the file path, you can only open the file using File->Open on the Mac. We have fixed it in a future version.
  3. This is the K key behavior: If the users presses the K key when the cursor is still on the last vertex point, then the object is simply closed. But if the user already started drawing another segment and then presses the K key, the last segment will be extended (keeping it's angle) until it's perpendicular under the start point.
  4. Sorry, for the regression - but we just fixed it today - which will be available with SP2. Thanks for reporting.
  5. Nicoloco, As far as we know we have resolved all the user origin shift in plan rotation related bug. So if you have some cases that still do not work - can you submit a bug to bugsubmit@nemetschek.net? This will help us immensely.
  6. If you have RenderWorks - you can use the jpeg file to create a RenderWorks background and assign that to the active layer by double-clicking on the background resource in the resource browser. Then just render using any of the RenderWorks modes.
  7. Check your 3d conversion resolution in the application preferences, and make sure it is not set to high or very high - which may result in performance problems.
  8. "I am using VW 11.5, so I guess I have to suffer for the time being. Increasing my suffering is the fact that selecting "Save Viewport Cache" in "Document Preferences" does not seem to stop the viewport from reverting to wireframe when I edit the annotations - any advice? " Answer: You can keep the rendered look in the edit modes if you check the "Display Viewport Cache" check box in the Edit Viewport dialog.
  9. Stack Layers works only for Design Series products and not in the VectorWorks Fundamentals. Do you have Architect or Designer?
  10. Well, it all depends upon where you snap onto using the extruded retangle tool and extruded polygon tool - both tools can create mesh objects in certain situation especially when you snap onto objects that are at different z heights.

May be you need to change the fill of the viewport to None from a solid fill.
  12. The scaling option may be disabled because you have corners or discontinuities in the path.
  13. Yes, this is on our list of things to do.
  14. Another thing is that you may have to enter the edit crop mode and draw a bigger crop - as big as want the perspective rectangle to be. The bounding box of the viewport is determined by the crop which acts as the perspective rect.
  15. In the Edit Crop mode, you can use flyover and walkthru tools to set the perspective properly.
