  1. I do have another ANSWER !!!. I like to number doors and windows with a prefix that stands for the space number they are found in. But VW sorts doors: 1-1 10-1 11-1 12-1... 2-1 it simply recognizes the first digit in the door designation regardless of decimal place. There is a way to place/sort doors doing this: 01-1 01-2 02-1 02-2... 10-1 10-2 It's a bit silly, but it works.
  2. I have tried a few setups with Gimp and all have failed. Anyone knows which Gimp HP driver is similar to that for the HP DesignJet 600 ??
  3. HERE IT IS: http://techboard.nemetschek.net/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=16;t=001480
  4. There is an anwser for this one already called "schedules" Thanks anyway...
  5. Delmer, Thanks for the help. Is there a Title Block doctor in the house?

Well, beats me, too... I thought I was supposed to be happy. BTW, are there any decent symbol libraries one can get or buy?
  7. My Door Schedule has several entries that I do not know what they are. They must be doors, I guess. But where are they? Is there a way to delete these entries? Thanks for any help.

Could you please be more precise? I have waited for months for Gimp to support the HP DesignJet 600 plotter and I still don't see it in the llistings. There is a DeskJet 600, but it's not the same article...
  9. yes, i am useing a stock TB and like it very much. The thing is there is a entry field you can add revisions with a date but after it gets "posted" I can't find a way or instrutions anywhere on how to edit or delete any of them.
  10. Thanks for the reply. The door I am refering to is the one you can insert from the Objects Palette. You mean I can edit this symbol or item? Or create a new one?
  11. Also, 1. How can I make ID recognize Window Walls (like the ones in the Object Library folder, not the original plug-ins)? 2. How can I edir the size of the font in an ID tag?
  12. quote: Originally posted by Delmer: Go back and edit the title block file. When you open your drawing file it will automatically update... I'm not sure how to do that. I click on the border and I can edit some things in the Obj Info, but not delete any old Revisions. I certainly can add them there.
  13. I am trying to complete the Door Schedule but some doors have sidelights in them and the ID tool will not recognize them. ID will record the correct width and height of the door, but there's no mention of the sidelight. There is not "field" into with to enter any info. The ID tool for window will not recognize it as a window, either. Do I have to tinker with some database or something?
  14. I tried the borders as inserted on Sheets and I really liked the way they worked with the Issue Manager... But how can I delete a erroneous entry for Revisions?
  15. Thanks for the suggestion... I just did a couple of days ago.
  16. I wouldn't want the Model's wall attributes colors to show in section. I use hatches in plan in order not to have the color confusion. In plans and sections I want to show "cut" objects in a diagramatic way, showing the materials hatch. Or at least some kind of poche. I guess a quick way could be to convert a copy of the section to polygons and give them a hatch on top of the Viewport. You'll probably say that that's what you've been saying all along. the problem with CAD and stuff is that you learn by doing. The VW manuals don't seem to grasp that. AT ALL!!

  18. quote: Originally posted by Travis: R, Try "stacking" multiple Viewports. The back one might have the model rendered in Renderworks, the front one might be Hidden Line. You can even set Hidden Line to one of the Sketch modes. If you'll place a "sun"light on the referenced layer angled for each of the four sides, with each assigned to its own class, you can turn on the appropriate light for shadows (from the Viewport) on all four elevations. Very slick. How do you solve the "sun" thing. I want my Model to have shadow but if i want all four elevs AND my sections to have controlled shadows the lighting goes nuts.

Can you have the sectioned walls and floors to automatically show some hatch or color according to their class?
  20. How do you print black in order not to get light fuzzy prints? I use colors in Floor Plan to differentiate between new, existing and demolition.
  21. Fixed. For some reason the setup was as you describe, yet the Model from which the perspective was "viewported" did not have the glazing type visible.
  22. As a new user to VW i have been greatly impressed with the 3D capabilities of the program. And yet, terribly frustrated by the mediocre ability to do decent sections and elevations usable in a construction drawing. Great renderings, yes. But the hidden line renderings with the lack of surface healing and "triangulation" are an unsufferable pain in the butt. I can't understand how a program with so many great architectural features could miss on such basic bread and butter stuff as sections and elevations.
  23. Thanks for the info. it will certainly do the trick. but i still wonder why the pre-packaged borders have insertable info having to do with with drawing name and number.
  24. Anyway.. I did make a class for it but, what layer should it be on? Design or Sheet?
  25. Great suggestions I'll check them out. One question, can I decide if glass it to be opaque or transparent? El;evations with transparent glass are confusing
