Hello i am exporting a mvr for grand ma3. Should it be possible to retain the orientation of the fixtures? I am using foucs points but when i import on the ma3 everything is just pointing down. I tried to open the MVR in Vision as well, no fixture focus made it over there either, everything is pointing straight down. This is also true for "send to vision" thank you for any ideas

Hello I am loving that fixture beams are now visible in shaded mode with lit fog. However, I cant seem to enable gobos. I am using the robe megapointe and in the OIP>edit fixture I can pick a gobo but the gobo is not applied and the selection does not stick. What am I doing wrong? Thank you

Hi This ancient VisiCalc stuff has got to go! Please make sheets compatible with google sheets/excel/numbers. It is crazy to me that I work with those tools every day and when I come to VW do my worksheets I have to go and google how to do a sum on on some cells. And the whole interface feels like 1998. Making a cell text bold is takes a minute of menus and tabs, it just seems like a priority graveyard to me. Or at least please explain Thank you

Hi You are right, there were non tube objects on the sheet that had the record attached, I would never have looked there. The tip about selecting 2.3 in an unsummarised list was really great. Found all bugs now. Thank you!

Hi I have a worksheet where I list all Rectangular Tube 3D instances in a design. I use a record to tell what part of the frame the tube belongs to and get the length. There are ghost instances of the categories B and VBOT that are 0mm/52mm long. After thorough investigation I am 99% sure that they do not not exist. In any case, how do I go about tracing this to its source? Is there a way to search for objects that have a record entry (in spotlight)? Thank you

The truss has a sub class called "simplified" that makes a box around the complex geometry. Just turn it off

Hi I Am wondering how to apply the shadow catcher in shaded mode. Atm I am applying the the shadow catcher texture to a thin extruded plane and the shadows look great, but are only visible if I give the plane a fill, which makes it gray when catching the light. This is what I would like to avoid. I am lighting with a default heliodon. Grateful for any advice

possibly stating the obvious: With the viewport(s) selected: choose "none" in the data visualisation popup in the OIP and it disappears

Thats actually where I landed after posting. Works great! I actually have no images at all. Its all a mix of wireframe and shaded/openGL graphics on 300 dpi sheets. 8 pages = 27mb. I think the above mention service is really terrific, thats how I do it now. Same 8 pages = 4.5mb, no visible loss. Cheers

Hi Anyone got a good workflow for getting PDF export sizes down? I do A3 sized sheets and a lot of pages and the PDFs look great but are unmailable. I can recompress it with acrobat pro but its a bit clunky. There are some online solutions I think Anyway, would love to hear if anyone has ideas Thank you

Can we agree that there are other industries than the one you are referring to? In my world nobody uses pangolin. And why should it matter? Why would Vectorworks feel the need to dictate what other products one uses. None of the other visualisers do. Sorry but this is a strict business decision and vectorworks is in cahoots with pangolin. And thats their right I suppose, but I refuse to sugarcoat it. I apologize for rambling on, I mean no offense to anyone. I have to cancel my vision subscription and change my workflow and it becomes a waste of precious time, thats why I feel strongly about it.

There is absolutely no technichal reason to only implement one brand like that. And its not to the benefit of the user -quite the oppposite. Its like only supporting one brand of light desk in vision, it would make no sense. Pretty sad imho.
