I receive a 2mb DWG, save it in VW12 & it turns it into 64mb?!?! input 2meg output 64meg what's wrong here? What could take an extra 62mb?

When I want to add a new resource, let's say a new texture, sometimes it's grayed out & I can't add anymore textures. Anybody know the reason for that?

Every now & then all of my textures go black only in Final Render. Eventually they return, but it's really annoying. It seems random... I've seen it happen on 100+ meg files to just a cube to test textures. Same thing with lights, 0 to many. Anyone experience this & is there a fix? Thanks,

I have to build trussing & it doesn't want to lay out vertical, it only lays on the X axis. Any help?

In the Object Info Pallet, set the "Dim Off" to a higher value to extend the line. The text will remain the same distance from the line, but you can adjust that if needed by altering the "Text Off" value.

I made a circle, split it at 1 point then converted it to nurbs. then in 3d wiews pull 1 end of the path up & the other down. Now you have the path of 1 complete coil to copy, paste & compose. Last, extrude along path with a circle the diameter of the cable. There's probably an easier & quicker way but that's the way I know of...

Just checked for updates & SP3 is out. Hope it cures my woes, at least some... Well, I installed SP3 & all is good, I can work in 2011 again!! I had a file(s) that would lock up, it was so bad I couldn't use it. It did that whole build list, destroy, build for about 20 min. until I quit. Opened those files & no problems at all. So far so good

I just checked for updates & SP3 is out.

Are the layer options set to "show others"? You will get a grey box when you are on a different layer than the .jpg layer & layer option set to "grey others".

This is true, but have you ever seen so many people not even being able to use the program due to multiple bugs? These are not just "make it a bit better" problems, they are "I can't even use it" problems.

My complaint was the random crashes, not the slowness. Yea, it is slow ... now I see what people are talking about in terms of slowness. I have a medium size file that wont even render in openGL What a joke, a $2500 joke, not to mention time & money lost using it. So, it constantly crashes & you cant use openGL medium to large files ... very useful product. Exported file to VW10 & everything's good. I fought tooth & nail with my boss to get this so called upgraded version. Can't wait until he sees me using older versions. Way to go Nemetschek

You should install SP2, doubt it will help with the problem you are describing but you never know. VW11 is an unstable "crash monster".

VW 11 crashes all the time for no good reason!! I'm sick of it! Sure, it has a better render engine & some nice features, but what good is that when you have to redo things time & time again? I know everyone says it's video card related. If so, why didn't they test the product with common video cards to make sure it was stable BEFORE they released it?! Guess that's what you get when you pump out a new version every year...

Hello, I just received 2011 & the Resource Browser adds duplicate files & backup files. So I have triple the files to scroll through. Never seen this before, it's probably just a setting/option, but anybody know how to resolve this? It's only the resources that I create & store in VW Library - Favorites. really annoying. Thanks, my resource browser
