  1. Been requested before - the ability to add objects from outside the group or subtract objects from within the group while in the group editing mode would be handy.
  2. You could create an annotation class with the appropriate marker set for the class. I often use lines instead of leaders - just place the lines in your annotion class and turn on the marker.
  3. Should read: Thinking about this more, I think the NEW handrail tool should be editable in both path (elevational) and profile to be able to overcome any baneful irregularities such as the one Christiaan posted above. Also, a railing Send to Surface to ensure all balusters connect with the stair or landing, particularly at transitions?
  4. Take a look at this recent stair: I modeled it instead of using the stair and handrail tool because I no longer have any hair left to pull out.
  5. Just in case you don't know: In the above attachment, P_ values refer to "Project" data, such as client details and addresses that replicate across the drawing set. The S_ prefix refers to "Sheet" data which applies to the specific sheet such as sheet no, sheet scale etc. The other benefit of using your own title block symbol (using linked text to records) is that you can control some of the drawing sheet data via a worksheet. (although I haven't got this sophisticated yet )
  6. You're not kidding! I'd go so far as to say it's useless. (the handrail tool really gets my blood boiling)
  7. I'm thinking a separate tool to the stair tool for the following reason: As Vincent has pointed out, Stairs often lead up to a terrace or balcony and you want to continue the rail at the landing/top of stair around the outside of the terrace/balcony. Alternatively, a way of accurately joining sections of railings together (think wall component join tool) for stair rails to other rails.
  8. I'm struggling to think of an instance why you would not want to show caps at doors and windows....
  9. Thats odd. It works as expected if you convert the door/window to a symbol though.
  10. This is a screenshot of my title block link-text-to-record settings - all seems to work fine.
  11. I have edited my original post for clarification.
  12. This video may help you in creating your custom title block in VW. Title Block Tech Tip
  13. I would like the following enhancements to zooming and panning in vectorworks (or at least the ability to customise) Scroll wheel + Option key = Zoom in & out Scroll wheel + Command key = Pan left and right Scroll wheel + Space Bar = Pan up and down This is how Illustrator works and is very intuitive. I would like to have consistency between VW and Illustrator. Edit: I know that VW can do this with other keys but because I often use illustrator as well it would be easier to have some consistency
  14. would you mind attaching a 2012 version/ regards.

To attach an image switch to full screen reply and then click on file manager.. Browse Add File Done Adding Files see attached - it's real easy to do.
  16. Remuneration for bug submits? Talk about a steady income and a job for life! Where do I sign?
  17. All sounds are turned off in my VW prefs.
  18. I often double click on a sheet to edit title block info. When I enter say a new sheet number, I want to be able to turn off the annoying sound. There's no rhyme or reason for this.
  19. That's how I presently do it. I've also tried having a number of sheets in my template file named Site Plan, Floor Plan, Elevations etc but inevitably I'd be renaming or renumbering as i would create the drawing set. So I'm back to just one sheet layer in my template. Yes, but bear in mind, if you have created your template file correctly and Automatic Drawing Coordination turned on your sheet numbering and sheet title should be two-way between the sheet and the navigation palette. Have you created a custom title block yet?
  20. Sorry forgot to attach in my previous post... Should answer your question
  21. As MK said, create a site model would be best. You can then use the attached settings to control youur contour intervals i.e. you might want to start your contours at 30m, a major contour at every 1m, and minor contours at 0.25m HTH.
  22. I use Little Snitch and have not had this issue.
  23. 1) Create your drawing on your design layer 2) View>Create Viewport & place on sheet layer. (You can also draw an object and with it selected create the viewport) 3) Control your desired layer/class visibility settings in the sheet layer viewport via the object info pallete 4) To create additional views you can duplicate the first viewport on the sheet layer and change the view orientation. 5) To create sheets, I have one sheet created in my template file and I duplicate the sheet when required. (saves me having to place the title block each time) Is this what you're after??
