  1. IT'S HERE! Thx!!! Loving the Dark Mode... so much easier on the eyes.
  2. What I need to accomplish: In several of the Published Drawings I want to make the Label Legends of all the instruments larger in just a particular Viewport. When working in the various Layers; I want it as originally scaled. The only workaround I've developed is making all new larger "containers" and rebuilding each of the Label Legends just for that particular Viewport/Sheet Layer. Am I missing something very obvious? THX to anyone who has any ideas! P.
  3. @Tom W.& @markdd it seems that BOTH theories work kinda... not always adjoining, etc., when dealing with what would be a proscenium with curves, etc, But seems like a starting workaround! THX!
  4. SPOTLIGHT should have the "convert to wall" option available >>> the polygon and "solid addition" or "solid subtraction" we need to create in the world of Theatre ... but then use it as a wall for scenic and/or venue overlay to a show design. In creating Scenic Items and when drawing out a theatrical/event venue you are making your elements out of available tools. The ability converting them to a "WALL" is something that I would use almost daily... but can't afford the extra $1000 for the Designer workspace for just that ability. (and the Advanced Stair Tool as noted in another thread...) Thank you!
  5. This is a need I have frequently as well. And as @Raef wheaton noted, I no longer have access to the Designer edition... and def can't afford it just for the two tools I need. I also need to have the "convert to wall" option available >>> the polygon and "solid addition" or "solid subtraction" we need to create in the world of Theatre ... but then use it as a wall for scenic and/or venue overaly to a show design.
  6. Reading this >>> it looks like the time spent is more valuable in the OSX world than time spent in the Win10/11 world. @rDesign thank you for the Link!
  7. I guess I'll add to the BUMP BUMPING here... Are we still in 2023 working without PC users to operate in Dark Mode? Does anyone at VW actually read/know this is a greatly wanted feature? When I Googled "Vectorworks Dark Mode" there are years of requests for the PC version of this lower eye-strain work environment. The notations within the "help" section notate that if your MAC is in Dark Mode, VW will also. Windows-10 has a Dark Mode for both Windows OS and for Default App Mode.
  8. @Pat Stanford Now that I'm on VW2023 >>> Is there any hopes that this has a better answer? In Spotlight (scenic design) I have an "arch" set piece. I need a 3" half-round extrusion on the face of the surface (curved arch over a drape) Is there any hopes in just "extruding along path" with the 3" half-round? Or to i really have to make it a rectangle, adjust it, change it to a half-round & adjust that? THX!

  10. @BSeigel this is PERFECT! And thank you for the Video Tour! Did you create this "Source-4 w/SideArm" symbol? The actual SideArm is NOT an accessory, but will create a different count of fixtures? Those with C-Clamps and those with SideArms? Do you need one for each degree-type? The City Theatrical Side Arm is a different creature... but will count the same. (?) THX for the input!
  11. @TomWhiteLight THX for the reply... I have searched and searched thru the libraries; both Accessories and Rigging. ... but unable to locate one. I will try again! As an accessory >>> you would place the accessory and then associate it with the proper instrument. Thus all paperwork and information will associate the sidearm with the appropriate instrument. Also, there are several rental companies that install c-clamps as requested as the attachment point is not always the same. And in this case, the Sidearm. Inventory calculations change. Even prepping for the hang, knowing how the gear will hang is needed. I just looked up what a "de-rig" arm is. I've seen those also here in the US. And those would be considered "rigging". As you still utilize the supplied c-clamp on the instrument to attach to the de-rig arm. Whereas the antique-style Side Arm is actually more a part of the lighting fixture once it replaces the c-clamp. (Personally I would prefer the de-rig over a side arm! I wonder what the cost difference would be... ???) Looking forward to see how this workflow should work. Great news. THX~ P.
  12. @AWaters Is correct. As a US based designer, the Side Arm (with or without the "Safer Side Arm") is a common accessory. As it also is a replacement for the c-clamp mounting, it is vital to the shop order. The steel must be ordered/pulled/replaced, etc. So in my workflow, it is always a "missing" element that I must manually enter and calculate into all documents. (including Lightwright) In today's world, the visual representation is becoming more and more important -- and taken for granted many times. Rather than looking for a note or refence, the tech will just look at the drawing and hang the gear the way it "looks" >>> not the way it's noted on the side. Add the fact that VW is a fantastic visual tool ... and 3D representations ... the mounting details become more and more vital. If y'all can implement the addition of these accessories that would be fantastic!
  13. Well... now it's VW2020 … and it's STILL grayed out in 3D "working pane" view. AARRGGHHH
  14. @jblock This is fantastic to hear! I'm having the same issues. I can [Save] just after each "add" before VW2020 crashes. But it will crash. Since I can create/move (1) layer at a time... and then [Save] fast... when I reopen VW the new Layer/Order will be as updated. Just frustrating!
