Glitches with snapping

My system likes to decide when it wants me to snap to objects or not. Am I missing something??? 

 

I have Layers and Classes set to Show/Snap/Modify, and I leave my Snapping Pallets as shown below. When I am editing parts, sometimes it will snap to greyed objects and sometimes it won't. 

 

Thoughts?

Do you have layers at different scales? VW will only snap to objects on layers that are the same scale. Do you have Unified View turned on and all the layers in the same view?

 

If it is not those, can you do a screen movie showing what you want to snap to that it won't?

thanks Pat, Parts are all on the same layer. I am currently building a display case. If I double-click the drawer base, which is a solid subtraction, and I want to edit a shape to line up with something outside that solid subtraction, it won't snap to the greyed objects outside the solid subtraction. It has in the past. I dont know what is different.

 

I have never done a screen movie. I will look into that.
