Roof Face command

I am trying to add a dormer from a symbol to a roof face. I know you can do this if you make rood from creat roof command- but how about just from a roof face command?

If I remeber correctly you can only add a "dormer object" to a "roof", not to a "roof face". My personal preference though is to bypass the dormer object (as I have never found it to be very easy or intuitive to use). I usually just add walls where they need to be, reshape them either with the "fit walls to roof" command or the 3d reshpae tool, and then add a roof.

To use the "dormer object" you need to start with a roof object and then insert (drag) a window symbol from the resource browser onto it. Then comes the fun (not) part of trying to make it behave!!!

that's what I thought. Just add rhe dormer roof the walls and then add the window.
