Device text and socket size not changing with snapping grid scale VW2022

For VW2020 and VW2021 I believe the scale of the device text and sockets where related to the size of the snapping grid at the instance of device creation in the document.  Now if I place a device, it seems to always have the same small text and socket size.  The picture below shows snapping grid size 1mm, 4mm, and 16mm.  Is there a new system of managing their scale?  This example is from a VW2020->VW2021->VW2022 document so there may be some old setting causing this.  If that is the case, do you know what that could be?

I performed the same test with a new VW2022 ConnectCad template and had similar results.  Only difference is that the text and socket size was larger, but still the same across the 3 snapping grid scales.

Hello @sbecraft,

Yes, the scaling logic was changed. Now, nothing in the active document will change if you change the snap grid. The key thing is that anything new that comes in the document needed by ConnectCAD will get scaled to the document's snap grid directly on the import and will not change after that. So, if you want to use different snap grid you should create a new empty document, set its snap grid to what you want and then start using the ConnectCAD tools. That way the tools will correctly import everything in the desired scale to look nice in the active snap grid.

Let me know if you need any additional information.

Hi @sbecraft

Schematics are essentially not-to-scale drawings. There is nothing in a schematic that represents a physical dimension in the real world. So in a way the layer scale for these is irrelevant. You can print them out at any size you want using viewports on sheet layers.

So it would be good to know specifically what you want to accomplish when you say "if a document I imported from VW2021 is at a scale I don't want". Since layer scale doesn't usually matter, is it the text size in relation to the socket spacing that is the problem? A picture will help me a lot to understand and advise you.

Best regards

Conrad
