Seena Hassouna
I'm confused about this tool. What is it for, when should it be used, and why does it affect riser height? Thanks, Seena Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Hi Seena, how's it going? I only use "draw top tread" for one purpose: to see (both in plan, but mostly in section) where the last riser actually sits. This is useful for overhead clearance issues, etc. In most cases (for me) the "top tread" is actually part of the floor (slab) at the top of the stairs. But if you were drawing something like a fire escape stair (ie a separate entity from the bldg) I could see why it might useful...BTW, I have never seen this affect the riser height. Do you have a specific example??? Regards, Quote Link to comment
Seena Hassouna
Well, If you fill in all the tread info etc with show top tread checked and then incheck it, you'll see it happen. It's most obvious by clicking and un-clicking while looking at the stair in a side view. Thanks for your help. I should have had the show tread thing unchecked all along. Seena Quote Link to comment
