Rodger
My co-workers and I find it difficult to edit the locations of windows and doors accurately. What is the best method for moving multiple windows or doors in the same wall. VW 9.5.1 Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted December 11, 2002 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted December 11, 2002 There are a variety of tools and methods for doing this: To precisely locate a single door or window by its insertion point, select the door or window and click the "position" button in the Shape pane of the Object Info palette. To accurately place and duplicate several doors or windows in a wall, use the "Duplicate Symbol in Wall" tool. Also, turn on your object snap and you can use the Smart Cursor to drag your windows and doors to align to a point of an external object. Quote Link to comment
P Retondo
Robert, While you're here, it would be terrific if we could align a door or window with a locus, the way other objects align. Fussing with the "position" information box is difficult, since you have to get out your calculator to figure out what numbers to enter. Also, I find that you can't use "Duplicate Symbol in Wall" with objects created using a PIO. The tool returns a "No symbol selected" message, if I remember correctly.
