JGL
When running VW 9.5-7, Mac OS 10.1.1 door swings don't register properly. Some doors have the arc swinging backwards. Flipping the doors corrects the problem only in certain directions. Doors were originally symbols from VW 8.5.3. Problem does not show up in VW 9.1.....any ideas? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted November 19, 2001 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 19, 2001 I believe this is a known bug, however I would still recommend that this issue be sent to mailto:bugsubmit@nemetschek.net as it is a bug report about our current public beta. JGL
Message sent. Is there a work-around? Quote Link to comment
AndyM
I have run into this as well and have a crude but effective workaround. For me the problem only comes up when inserting the doors into walls it works fine when placing doors out in the middle of nowhere. I place a door, draw a rectangle with solid fill but no line over it, group them then place it over the wall. The door then appears to be inserted in the wall. You might have to play with sending things forward and backward to occlude the wall but show the door and it only works in plan veiw but it got me by. Quote Link to comment
JGL
Thanks, that will work for 2D drawings as a quick fix, but does defeat the purpose of using symbols. Hope this is fixed in the final release of 9.5. Quote Link to comment
ErichR
The door swing problem was apparantly NOT fixed in the 9.5 release. The problem occurs in the Window version (that I'm using). Very bad bug. Makes the release just about useless (unless you don't have to deal with doors). Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted December 14, 2001 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted December 14, 2001 Erich, it's fixed in the Windows version I'm using. Make sure you have a release version and not a late beta. Can you email me (randerson@nemetschek.net) a document that displays this problem, just so I can confirm? Quote Link to comment
JGL
I too thought it was not fixed after downloading the final 9.5. I trashed the beta folder and downloaded the full install version and re-installed. Now everthing works fine. (Mac version) Quote Link to comment
David Seibert
The work around is to enter the door symbol and convert the door swing arc to a polygon. Quote Link to comment
MikeB
I saw this in the 9.5.0b7 version, but under the 9.5 final release it no longer occurs on either PC's or Mac's for me. Although on both systems I did trash everything and did a fresh install of 9.0.1 and then used the full installer for 9.5 Good Luck Quote Link to comment
