Image import / Image prop

Kara K

Question

I am having trouble importing an image (from sketchup texture club) without it applying some type of black background to a cutout that originally had a transparent background.  When I make an image prop the black around the image is still present.  Can't figure out what I am doing wrong.

@Kara K no problem, happy to help.  The file is fine.  Are you viewing the image or texture in OpenGL with textures enabled?

The cylinder is your image used as a texture.  The rectangle is your image imported as an image resource.  In both cases, transparency works so long as you view them in OpenGL or rendermode with alpha channel capability.  The rectangular image will have a white background in top/plan view, but not top view OpenGL for instance.
