Geodesic dome

Please, can anyone throw me a bone and point me in the direction of an actual tutorial on how to draw a geodesic dome. I have been searching and searching and cant seem to find a viable tutorial on Vectorworks 2019, all I get is broken links or other application tutorials. I don't want a drawn geo-dome, I want to know how to draw it myself.

I looked a couple of years ago and eventually drew a blank with Vectorworks tutorials. However, there are a few online tutorials about how to draw one with Sketchup. If you are looking for a tool, then I don't think one for Vectorworks exists. However, if you are looking to understand the mathematics behind how they are created then the sketchup tutorials helped a lot.

 

Try looking on the Marionnette forum as this is just the kind of thing that a script could do perfectly.

 

After some head-scratching I did manage to build one. Sadly I can't find the post on the forums where I put the images or the model. Sorry not to be much help just at the moment, but it is possible to do because I have done it!

quick and dirty: draw a hemisphere (3d modelling tool) and then convert to 3d polys.  You will get a geodesic.
