jan15
Shouldn't be any problem. What happens when you try? Maybe you just need to add the .mcd filename extension, which is needed in Windows but not in MacOS. Or maybe you're trying to open Mac's "resource fork", instead of the "data fork" which is the actual VW file. Quote Link to comment
propstuff
I've seen this a bit with windows, and not just files that have come from a Mac. It seems to be a windows/VW thing. If what jan suggests doesn't work, try launching VW and do File>Open rather than double clicking the file. then Save As a different name usually fixes it. HTH Quote Link to comment
alanmac
Just checking all possibles - is the file on the machine? If its on a burned CD you'll have to copy it onto your machine or you'll get an error message. If Vectorworks cannot "write back" to a file it won't open it. Alan Quote Link to comment
Mada Yllut
tried opening differant file types and importing into a vectorworks document on the PC. But no joy! Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
Can you be more specific about how you are trying to open or import the files. I copy files from the Mac to PC all the time without any trouble. 1. Make sure that the Mac files have .mcd at the end of the filename. 2. Make sure that you are choosing the correct file. Sometings I see an underscore at the front of my Mac files. These are not the ones to open... Quote Link to comment
