Purge, empties plant catalogue and 2d symbols ?

I had entered dozens of plants using the place plant tool and the define plant process and saved numerous times and the drawing was slowing down and the file size was getting very large so I purged unused objects and the result was I lost all the defined plants ?

The plants stayed on the drawing and in the plant schedule fine but their definition were all gone from the plant catalogue and the 2d symbols folder.

I have had to re-define them again and import a fresh symbol folder.

Is purging mid drawing a danger ?

I am sure I have purged mid drawing before and never lost the plant symbols/definitions.

Any ideas please ?

This was a bug in 10.5 (not sure about 10.0). It was fixed in VWL 11. I would recommend not purging in 10.5.

Hi Robert,

As far as you know has there been any problem purging in 11.5, I have a number of large drawings and I would like to limit their size but I am nervous given the problems encountered before.

Purge will remove 2D, 3D and Plant definitions that have not been used in the document. This is what purge is supposed to do, so I am not aware of a "problem" purging.
