Christiaan
Do VW 11 files need to be upgraded/converted to 12 before use, and if so, I assume 11 is unable to then work with them? [ 10-13-2005, 01:14 PM: Message edited by: Christiaan ] Quote Link to comment
Christiaan
Answer: of course, I think. This from NNA's PDF: quote: The new "Convert in Place" checkbox in the Batch Convert dialog simplifies your batch conversion workflow. You can convert new version Vectorworks files in their original locations and archive old version Vectorworks files to a different location, saving you from having to copy your drawings to several different folders. Guest
If you make changes to those files though, you will need to export them to a version 11 (File>Export>Export VW 11). Quote Link to comment
islandmon
The downside to these UpGrades is the constant converting and changing of newer version file names. For those of us in the A&E biz ... there's no such thing as a 'legacy project' ... cus the math never changes. A lot of stuff created a decade ago is still useful today. Also our clients require constitency ... building simply do not age at the rate of software. As a typical user , I have every file version and most are redundant saves just to access a bit of 'legacy' information. I recall the old days when we could export the entire file as text and re-import as required. Quote Link to comment
