viewport default class visibility

I am trying to find a way so that when I create a new class in a design layer, that class will be visible, instead of the default-invisible, in a pre-existing viewport. I have seen the solution for this with saved views, but why wouldn't there be a similar solution for viewports?

I would rather have items show up and need to change their visibility than the other way around and forget about them.

I agree KP2 - for the life of me I can't figure out why you would ever want the default to be having the class invisible. In probably 99% of cases I want it visible.

The ViewPort is not supposed to just add stuff and a new Class means adding attributes that were not first declared in a previous ViewPort ... hence they are invisible and rightly so.
