foton
Hello How do I close a 2D object made from arcs and bezier lines? (Join & combine tools work just for 2 separate objects) Can I do it automatically, just choosing the type of line, strait or bezier. Thanks a lot. Quote Link to comment
grant_PD
If the endpoints of the objects meet up to enclose an area, you can select all of them and use the "compose" command. It's an exercise in accuracy to get all of the endpoints to touch and not overlap, but you should get the hang of it after a little practice Quote Link to comment
SacSurfin'
You should be able to use the compose command under the Tool menu, at least that's where I have mine. That usaully works for me. Hope that helps, Brian Quote Link to comment
SacSurfin'
Getting endpoints to touch is simple when you use snap to object, even when you have to move them together, you go over a point and it will tell you. Then you move it until that endpoint you have goes over the other endpoint and it tells you, gotta love snapping. Brian Quote Link to comment

foton
Odd thing, Delmer ... We have 2 virtually identical machines running in the office both with the same version of VW, and same workspace layout. One machine has the option check box to close the polyline, and mine doesnt. Any ideas? We tried to duplicate the excercise exactly. Quote Link to comment
Delmer
There are two ways you can end up with an open-sided poly, its just plain not closed (here you will have the checkbox), or one side is actually there but is hidden (no checkbox). If it is hidden you will see a centerpoint along the vacant side. Use the Hide or Show Edges function of the 2D reshape tool to click on the centerpoint and make it visible. Quote Link to comment
foton
Thanks, I've got it. Too many tricks........ Quote Link to comment
Delmer
If they don't touch use the Connect/Combine tool set to Dual Object Combine Mode and then close the last segment with the checkbox on the OIP. Extenting and combining arcs will convert them to polys, in which case its better to use the Dual object connection mode and then Compose as Grant mentioned. Quote Link to comment
