mattryan
I am new to using Quantity Takeoff's in Vector Works and was wanting to know how to generate quantities such as wall area or floor area to put into a table. Thank you Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Create a database with criteria that limit the items in the subrows to the items you are interested in. This often uses the layer, class, and object type. Select a column header in the database header row (3, not 3.1, 3.2, etc.) Go to the worksheet Insert menu and choose Function. From there you will have a number of choices for areas including components of walls. Ask again if you need more details. Quote Link to comment
mattryan
Thank you, I got that to work. Now I wasn't sure if there was a way to identify which walls the chart is referring to, like a way of labelling the walls to identify each one separately. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Multiple ways, but all of them semi-manual. You could assign them to different classes. You could create a custom Record format and enter the name that you want to identify them by. You could use the Name field at the bottom of the OIP Shape pane to enter a name you want to identify them by. And probably several more options I am not thinking of right now. Quote Link to comment
