Object disappears in Orthogonal view

Question

I am using 2016 Vectorworks Spotlight and when I want to work in 3D Orthogonal view it won't show an object. The print screen attached is a fresh file, that hasn't had anything done to it. I just opened and went to orthogonal view. I create an object and it's there, but if it's not selected or my cursor isn't hovering over it, it doesn't show up. The object also won't show up when I print. I'm fairly new to 3D, but I've never had this issue till recently.

I have this problem all the time, starting with VW 2017.  Mostly when working within objects such as symbols, and autohybrids and/or solids.  And when working within hybrid symbols, the 3D geometry of hybrid objects (both hybrid symbols and PIOs) inside the host symbol is invisible, unless selected or hovered over.  Pretty much always.  (Unless, oddly enough, the host symbol is flipped... ... ...)
