Text Blocks in new titleblocks go to single line of text

I have a bunch of legal-ese in my text blocks, and when converting them to the new titleblock system, those text blocks go to single line, center justification.  I unstyle the titleblock, fix the issue, re-style the titleblock, and it goes back to single line again!

Hello Grant,

 

When you unstyle the title block and edit it, you make changes to the unstyled title block and not to the style. That is why, when you select the style again, your changes are not applied there.

You could edit the style graphics or create new style after you have edited the unstyled graphics and the changes will remain.

Yes but when I replace the style with the new version, it reverts.  I was only able to affect changes by directly editing the style from the resource browser.  Replacing it from the OIP did not work.

I could not reproduce this is SP-1. Could you attach a screen recording showing how to reproduce it?

I see the error of my ways.  I mistakenly thought that one could replace the resource from the OIP. But it is working the other way around.
