RobbieButler
Hello! Having trouble with fixtures. When I turn them on, they emit the beam and hit the objects as you would expect, but they aren't casting shadows, its just a continuous beam. The set is currently mesh and it won't convert to a generic solids. It was also originally a CAD File and I am only on a trial version of render works. Don't know if that makes any difference. Any ideas? Cheers for your help! Rx Edited July 6, 2016 by RobbieButler Quote Link to comment
markdd
Are you rendering in open GL? If so then you won't be able to replicate shadows with Spotlight Instruments. You can enable shadows in Open GL settings but the bodies of the spotlight fixtures actually cast shadows of themselves meaning that no light is visible at all! You can make a "dummy" symbol like a scoop fixture that allows the 3d locus in the fixture to "see" the object it is lighting and then you will be able to see the light and resulting shadows! Hope that helps a bit Mark Quote Link to comment
