Auto back up while rendering

I'd like an option to delay an auto back up until after renders are complete.

Currently, if I start an SLVP render and wander away, or put another application active on top of VW, the render appears to hang when the auto back up dialog box pops up. I can't tell for sure, but it might be making progress that it just isn't showing.

But if I'm working on something else on another screen watching the render progress out of the corner of my eye, it never finishes while the auto back up dialog box is open.

I would consider this a bug, I actually had thought it was resolved already but it may have cropped back up. I'll resubmit if need be.

In the short term this can be mitigated by setting autosave to save every X actions rather than every X minutes, but in either mode it should not be interrupting or delaying renderings.

It probably cropped back up, as I noticed autobackups too sometimes when rendering viewports.

Not related to the question, but is there already a SP4 for VW2016? A check updates does not show an available SP4 (I'm on SP3)

SP3 was released a week or so ago, I wouldn't expect SP4 for a couple of months at the very least going by our usual release schedule.

Yes I would have expected SP4 not to be released so soon after SP3, I was a bit surprised about the SP4 mentioned in mk's signature, but it could have been an intermediate patch for a serious bug or something like that, so that is why I was wondering.

For awhile I accidentally had Vectorworks 2216 SP1.

I'm totally not from THAT far in the future, but if I were I would definitely leak features.

Just leaking features? Not flooding us with features? That doesn't bode well for new features to be added in the next few years. :eek:
