cwailes
Is there a way to create the first step to have round corners and do this in Vectorworks? Do I need to model it? What is the best approach for this? Quote Link to comment
AlanW
You will need to model the first tread and the rest of the steps can be done with the stair tool. But with the handrail you will probably need to model that also as there are pretty limited options for the handrail in the stair tool. Quote Link to comment
zoomer
You can model the first tread in plan view with a rectangle and an arc/circle compose both surfaces to one. Make a copy for the smaller bottom part and use offset tool to make it smaller. Extrude both according to their height. Set their Z values to make it sit over each other. If you wish you can "Add" both solids to make one part. The rest of the stair should work with the stair tool. The handrail posts look like sweep tool, if you want all the details. You have to draw half of their profile with all the arcs where the posts get thicker. Quote Link to comment
