barkest
Hi, I have a T-shaped roof and I want the main roof pitch to be 63 deg and the other roof to be 40 deg. I create the whole roof at 63 and then select the roof I want to be 40 and change it. When I do this I get a seam where the two roofs meet and it is not texturable unless I do an overall texture then it becomes a mess. If I create the roofs separately and then use the connect combine tool I am unable to auto cut out the interior space where the two roofs meet. any help would be appreciated thanks Quote Link to comment
AlanW
If you create a T shaped polygon as your roof on plan then create your 3D roof from AEC Create roof you can then change the roof pitch on the sided you want to and the valley textures will be seamless. HTH Quote Link to comment
barkest
Hi Alan thanks - that is what I did and I get the valleys and the textures are not seamless Quote Link to comment
barkest
Here is the roof but I have been unable to keep it as a roof object or even as roof faces and make sure the interior space of the roof is correct. The main roof is 63 degrees and the other roof is 40 degrees. In the end I created two roofs then converted them to faces and joined them and cut out the roof section to make the internal space. All to avoid the valleys that happen when you change the pitch on one roof. I must be missing something here? thanks Quote Link to comment

barkest
Thanks Jim. It's a long workaround and I don't have roof objects now so fingers crossed but I expect it will be 2016 before we see a fix thanks again Quote Link to comment
