Cadplan Architecture
Has anyone else had problems with walls with doors in being uncontrollable? Some of my doors can't be removed from the walls, others become detached from the walls, some walls won't join or trim, or do anything really. Quote Link to comment
michaelk
I have seen similar problems when the objects are very very far away from the origin. VW doesn't like objects to be miles away from the origin. hth mk Quote Link to comment
Cadplan Architecture
thanks, my two floor plans are almost in the centre of the A1 page which I think is the origin?? Quote Link to comment
michaelk
The origin is 0,0. The page on a design layer can be anywhere you want it to be. But, if you haven't moved it, then it's centered on the origin. So that's probably not the issue. If you want to post a file with a couple misbehaving walls and doors, I'm sure someone will figure it out. mk Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted November 19, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 19, 2014 Please do post a sample where the issue happens, I can have a look. Although as a quick step, if you copy a selection of doors and walls from a file where the problem is into a new file, does the same problem still occur? Does the behavior change at all in the new doc? Quote Link to comment
Cadplan Architecture
Yes I tried that Jim but having the same result, the VSS guys in London are looking at the file for me, meanwhile as a workaround I am replacing the wall style as it seems that the unsettled wall is corrupted in some way. Thanks Andrew Quote Link to comment
Cadplan Architecture
The problem was a corrupt wall style, I made a new unstyled wall and applied the attributes to the troublesome walls with the eyedropper tool. Thanks to CU VSS! Quote Link to comment
