showing 2d form from extrude

I have a very basic question that i can't seem to find an answer for.

After extruding a rectangle with a fill and line indicated in the Attributes window, the fill disappears. When switching to the 3d form it shows up fine but when i switch back to Top Plan, only the outline of the 2d form shows.

I tried alternating different Fill options but still only the outline is affected when i change the line parameters.

Editing the extruded form shows the correct fill.

How do i correct this?

Extrudes, by definition in VW's, have always behaved like this. In order to get the 2d view of an extruded form to have a solid fill use one of the following methods (there are probably more): 1) Use other "Hybrid" Objects (like Floors for example) when appropriate; 2) Use the Create Auto Hybrid command; or 3) create a 2d/3d Hybrid Symbol by using both the Extrude and a Rectangle (or any shape) drawn in Top/Plan view, and exactly aligned with the Extrude. Select both objects and then use the command Create Symbol.
