slate texture

I want my roof to show as grey slates. Is there a slate texture somewhere or can I make my own from a suitable photo image?

Is it possible to have a paving hatch which can be used at different angles on 2D plans?

I posted in the Architects forum but it's probably more relevant here.

I'm looking for a slate roof texture map and wondering where to look beyond the defaults textures which are rather limited and UAS biased.

I also would like a texture map for normal roof tiles, and also for cladding as opposed to the default siding.

You can find a LOT of freely available textures here (I linked to a general search for roof):

The MXMs will not work, but most of them are ZIP downloads that contain both the image for the texture itself as well as a bump or displacement map that can be used to create the Renderworks Texture.

thanks jim, there are certainly loads there and much easier to view than in Vectorworks. Just one question- where do I put the texture and the bump map in VW?

(ps I look forward to being able to use the thatched roof texture!)
