Export worksheet on Drawing

Recommended Posts

You can export them as as an Excel or txt file with the Export Worksheet option under File>Export.

You can export them as an image file, however, image fiels are not recognized by the dxw/dxf export either. Im assuming you are exporting as dwg....

Really, the only way you can do it is to export it as a txt file and send it seperate from your drawing.

If this is being sent for printing purposes you can try a print/plot/ps file, PDF file, or the person you are having do the print use the VW 9.52 Viewer.

The DXF file type doesn't support worksheets nor images. This is why the worksheets cannot be exported as they are nor as images.

When we export and import, we base our translation on information suplied by the DXF committee. If the information isn't given to them (from AutoCad), they cannot give it to us.

Basically AutoCad shares inforamtion from time to time about parts of thier application with the DXF Committe. Companies like us get that information and incoprporate what we can into the applications. If AutoCad choses to not share certain information with us, then there isn't much we can do.

Also, keep in mind, a new version of VW is long in the works, about a year or so before it's released to the public. Whatever information is available at the time of development is all we can include in VW. If image support in DXF export is available now but wasn't when VW 9 was developed, then of course we wouldn't be able to incorporate that feature.

Make me an image .. AutoCad will figure what to do with me".

I have requested the same thing previously. We have the technology to export everything as an image file. When you try to export something in DXF/DWG format the worksheets do not export. Why can the worksheets not be treated as an image within the drawing when exporting to the DXF/DWG file format?
