Peter Kaufman
Could be that I don't know how to find the resource, but I'm having no luck as I try to model cabinet doors with wire mesh where the panel would ordinarily be. Any help? Quote Link to comment
michaelk
There are three ways I've done it. 1. Create a texture from a photo of the wire mesh and set a transparency. This only shows the wire in Open GL or Renderworks. 2. Use extrudes. I usually make one extrude and use duplicate array or move by points and mirror and duplicate to make a field that's larger than I need. Then use the split tool to cut it down to the correct size. 3. Nurbs curves. Draw the mesh using lines and convert it to nurbs. Often I use two of the three and control the visibility w/ classes depending on rendering mode. I'll attach an example of each. hth mk Edited November 21, 2012 by michaelk Quote Link to comment
