barkest
Hi, is it correct that I have ambient light by default in each new document and when I add a light the ambient light (View > Lighting > Set Lighting options) is auto turned off? If I manually turn this off without any other lights in the document it remains on. thank you Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Tamsin Slatter Posted September 9, 2012 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted September 9, 2012 Hi Hope you are well - we are looking forward to seeing you again this week. The default light and ambient light are different things. The Default light comes from the top left of the model, and is on until such time as you add a specific light source with the Light tool. As soon as you do that, the default light is turned off. However, you cannot control the default light in other ways (I know you can in CINEMA, but not in RW). The ambient light does not come from a specific location - instead it is just all around in the model. It can be turned off using View > Lighting > Set Lighting Options. Hope that helps!
