ChadL
I feel like I must be missing something really easy. Using the Door Tool, how do I offset just the door. By Default it lines up flush to the exterior, but I want the door to be centered in the wall. Thanks, Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Select the Door, look in the Object Info Palette (OIP), at the bottom of the General category is a field "Offset in Wall"... Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
More: there seems to be a problem with the Jamb Depth when Offset is used. It can sort of be fiddled by using a Jamb Extension and setting the Jamb Depth manually... But not truly ideal... I will file a bug... Quote Link to comment
ChadL
That is where I thought it would be, but the jamb moving always threw me off. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Chad, the more I mess around with it the more it sort of makes sense that the jamb moves with the door. It would probably do so in real life. In other words, I don't think it's common to set a hinge buried in a jamb; hinges are nearly always at the edge of the jamb (for obvious reasons with standard butt hinges)... Quote Link to comment
ChadL
Peter, thanks for your help on this. Now that it has been explained it all makes sense. Quote Link to comment
