mattOC
Hello, Does anyone know a simple way to draw a 3d machine screw without using Machine Design? I'm only using fundamentals Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Use the sweep command. Quick example in v2010 attached. In 2012 the object is more stable and the drawing faster after you add the threads to a core. (for some reason the sweep cannot be converted to a generic solid). I can't remember if the solid engine switch happened before or after 2010 so it may behave better (or worse) for you. If you double click the threads in design layer-1 it will be clear how the sweep is created. Design layer-2 adds a solid core to the threads and is easier to deal with. hth mk Edited February 28, 2012 by michaelk Quote Link to comment
Bob Holtzmann
The Fastener tool plug-in from Vector Depot has some 3D bolts, nuts and screws. The threaded rod part might give you most of what you need. http://www.vectordepot.com/plug-ins/ Quote Link to comment
