acdeslx Posted July 18, 2011 Share Posted July 18, 2011 Hi all, So I just built my new computer, Windows 7 64-bit, Core i7 3.0, Nvidia GTX560ti 1gb, 12gb RAM, etc, etc. I just downloaded the evaluation version of 2011 and yet... It still takes the same amount of time to nudge a fixture as it did on my old Pentium 4... What am I doing wrong? I shouldn't be able to go refill a coffee when I select a couple of lighting fixture and then nudge them a couple of times. I put together the new system hoping to alleviate this frustrating time lag. Quote Link to comment
MrTemplate Posted September 24, 2011 Share Posted September 24, 2011 Hi acdeslx; historically i've found that nudging lighting devices always takes a lot longer than nudging the same thing when it's merely a hybrid symbol. nudging a plug-in object just always takes longer to process. because of that, i quickly became a fan of the move tool. command-m [or alt-m on a pc, right?]. i'm sure there are other assists, and inevitably nudging will be involved, but using the invisible grid, and using some of Sam Jones' autoplot tools for spotlight both help to reduce the instinctive Need for Nudge. hth, Shelley Quote Link to comment
