Paola
This may be a really dumb question, but it's making me crazy. I am very new to this program and i am trying to set up a drawing from the beginning. I understand that the drawing should be done on the "Design Layer", then I create "Sheet Layers" and on those I create the "Viewports". I am trying to create a Viewport and a big rectangle with an x shows up. am I doing something wrong? A friend told me that I should scale the viewport. and I tried to do it on the object box, changing the scale of that rectangle, but nothing is happening. Any ideas?? Thank you! Quote Link to comment
Mitchell Brooks
Paola, You are correct about doing the drawings on the design layer, and you create the Viewport there too, but tell it which Sheet Layer to show on. You can change the scale of the VP but that won't affect visibility so that won't correct your problem. You do that through the scale box in the Object Info Palette. Does this help? You're not trying to create the VP on the Sheet Layer, are you? Quote Link to comment

Jonathan Pickup
You should really try some of the training manuals that Vectorworks has for sale, especially the Vectorworks Essentials Tutorial manual. http://www.nemetschek.net/training/guides.php I do not like to see beginners learning Vectorworks without learning it well.
