Anthony Reilly
I have imported a PDF file of a ground plan for a Fine Arts Renovation project at our school. I am drawing on top of this PDF and I keep accidentally shifting the position of the PDF layer. I figured out how to lock the layer, but I still end up selecting it inadvertently and am blocked from doing other modifications because this layer is selected. Is there a way I can draw on this layer and have it locked and not selectable? I created a "class" for the PDF but not a separate layer for it. Thanks Tony Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Select PDF (or any object or objects) then use Modify>Lock... Quote Link to comment
Bob Holtzmann
It's also possible to have the PDF on a scaled layer, and draw on a different layer set at the same scale. Just set the Layer Options to Show/Snap Others. This will prevent selecting the PDF image. I've also done this with Classes, but I like Layers better, because the PDF layer can then be put on the bottom of the layer stack. Edited February 9, 2011 by Bob-H Quote Link to comment
