Referencing TBC???

Recommended Posts

Hi

I am not sure which tool to be using for the following problem...

I am doing a project that consists of designing a masterplan which aproximatly 5 different housing types and a total of about 80 houses. I am currently using sketch up for my masterplanning, but hve designed the housing types in VW. i am now thinking of creating my masterplan in VW, but i am concerned that if i draw 80 houses, all with apx 4 layers each (one for each floor & roof) then my file size will be HUGE! Is there a way of 'referencing' back to my original VW files where i have already designed each house?

hope this makes sense?!

Thanks

Lucy.

Yes. Once you have referenced in a house once you can then duplicate it as many times as you like and each of these virtual copies will update. Each copy can be individually located, elevated and rotated as required for its particular location on the site.

Using a reference as a module like this is a very efficient and effective way to work where you have the same element repeated many times.

Good... i thought it was. Right, next question... how do i do it?! I've had a quick look under workgroup referencing in the help section on VW, but it all seemed a bit complex! can anyone point me in the right direction of better help tutorials?

Many many thanks! most appreciated :o)
