sancho1981
I have read that the lighting positon lables have handles and that you can move those labels around without moving the lighting position, but when I try moving the label the entire lighting position moves with it. What am I doing wrong? Shawn Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Make sure the 2D selection tool is in "Single Object Interactive Scaling Mode" (top left corner of the window, it's the arrow pointing down left and up right). That will make the handles of the labels visible and allow you to move them around. hth michaelk Quote Link to comment
sancho1981
I am setup just as you've suggested and I get the handles, but when I try to move the label associated with a lighting position it still moves the position with the label. Quote Link to comment
michaelk
What version are you using? Are you using Sum Insts, Sum Colors, and/or Sum Circuits and trying to move those labels? If so, that won't work. There is only one handle on Lighting Position Objects: the handle for the whole position label. You can't edit all of the Sum... positions. hth michaelk Quote Link to comment
sancho1981
I am using 2009. I dont have any sums up. Only the name of the position. Quote Link to comment
michaelk
hmmm... Could you copy the position into a new file and post it? michaelk Quote Link to comment
sancho1981
I'd be happy to. I'll do it when I get home later tonight. I've only used VW for two shows and have had problems with both so I will attach two files. Thanks for all your help. Shawn Quote Link to comment
sancho1981
Here is a copy of the grids I am having problems with. Thanks again. Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Very strange. I was able to move all of them right away... Maybe your original file was corrupted. See if you can move these: michaelk Quote Link to comment
sancho1981
You were able to move the label independantly of the position? it. I created these from scratch, so maybe I did something wrong. I wil try your files tonight. Thanks. Shawn Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Yes, I was able to move them normally. If they also move for you in the file I posted, then something may have gotten corrupted on your original file. michaelk Quote Link to comment
sancho1981
I tried your file. No dice. I am using 2D selection tool with the "Single Object Interactive Scaling Mode" selcted and the position still moves with the label. I'm sorry I am being such a pain. Is there another setting I can look at? Shawn Quote Link to comment
michaelk
I have a preview in a couple minutes. I'll get back to you tomorrow. michaelk Quote Link to comment
sancho1981
I got it. Many many MANY apologies. When the handles came up and the cursor switched to a cross, I thought that's what I needed to use. I then tried doing it when the cursor turned to the resize arrow and it worked. You've been AWESOME! Thanks and again, I am sooo sorry to have taken up your time. Shawn Quote Link to comment
