benpilat
Hello, So the subject pretty much sums this one up. When I delete a fixture, then undo that delete, the fixture re-inserts itself as a "light" (light source with beam, intensity options, etc) instead of a "lighting device" with color, purpose, channel info. The instrument data appears to be lost. Is this normal? Is there anyway to change this behavior? It's very annoying... Quote Link to comment
michaelk
I get the same behavior (with VW 2009). michaelk Quote Link to comment
michaelk
But if I "cut" the fixture, rather than delete, then the undo works correctly. Could be a bug. michaelk Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Curious If you insert a lighting instrument with the Inst Insertion Tool, then undo it "uninserts". But if you Redo, nothing happens. If you insert a symbol with the normal 2D symbol insertion tool, then undo it "uninserts". But if you Redo, it reinserts. There seems to be a difference between the 2D Insertion Tool and the Inst Insertion Tool. michaelk Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted July 20, 2009 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted July 20, 2009 This is a bug. I can't remember exactly what the temp fix is, but I think if you nudge the light or run refresh instruments it will fix it. Quote Link to comment
