bcd
Hi, Probably a trivial question : Does anyone know how to extract the length of a Nurbs Curve. Thanks Brian Quote Link to comment
islandmon
Excellent question: In VW the NURBS are creatures spawned by polylines which do have perimeters determined by the frequency of vertices. But NURBS are designed to efficiently describe 3d space based on the weighting of the bezier-spline control points. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NURBS See the last Example: a circle ; ) Quote Link to comment
Benson Shaw
Hidden Secret Revealed!!! VW 2009 has a way to read length of a NURBS curve: Create a NURBS curve. Create another object of any type. Select NURBS and object. Menu>Edit>Duplicate Along a Path Voila! The dialog box has a readout of length of path!!! Is it accurate for the NURBS? I don't know, but the length readout does change if the NURBS path is changed We now have the beginnings of 3d Dimensioning!!!! Why this info is not shown in the OIP for a selected NURBS remains a mystery (to me at least). -B Quote Link to comment
