gmm18
Do the original objects have a solid fill? Quote Link to comment
colly
yeah, i just did exactly what i would have done in 12.5 Quote Link to comment
gmm18
Is this a fresh 2009 file, or an old 12.5 file opened in 09? If you try it on a new file does this still happen? I just tried a few subtract solids and no problems. You should create a signature with your system info Edited February 2, 2009 by gmm18 Quote Link to comment
GWS
Hi Colly can you post the file here? Quote Link to comment
colly
ok, how do i go about that? Quote Link to comment
GWS
When you go to the reply window there is some blue text at the bottom of the box that says 'File Manager'. Click on that and then click choose file. When you have found the fiule click 'Add file' and that should do the trick. (See Pic) Quote Link to comment

Ray Libby
There is something corrupt with the object, you will probably need to recreate it. Please answer gmm18's question, was this created in VW2009? Quote Link to comment
colly
sorry, yes this has been created directly from 2009. However i have imported a dwg. The new way in which 2009 has imported the dwg is new to me. Everything is grouped and a little more difficult to work with. Also, When i export the file to cinema 4d, its crashes. I've imported the dwg as i would have done in 12.5. Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
It's good practice to import .dwg into a new blank file, then copy and paste into your working file. Are any of the elements in the solid subtraction from the imported .dwg? Quote Link to comment
colly
none at all, ive copied the 3d model into a new file and its crashing when i export to cinema 4d. I converted the solid subtraction to a mesh and now its rendering in open GL. but still crashing when i export. Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
It seems the original polygon for the wall extrude was created very far from the origin (99457324mm). This could be the source of the problem. Quote Link to comment
colly
Ok i'll try moving it. Also, i'm having problems with the export to cinema4d. When i export its not giving me an option to select classes or layers and the resulting import in cinema creates material called "AnonMat255_255_255_0.000000e+00". The file structure of the model becomes fragmented. Quote Link to comment
